MASTER PLAN

We have designed many features in our master plan to ensure that our guests have plenty of opportunities to appreciate a sense of place. As a resort community, we are hosts not hoteliers or property managers. We have attempted to design in unique and memorable visitor experience in many aspects of our master plan, for example:

  • Dominical Bicycles (custom made beach bikes for our development) to encourage sustainable transport.
  • Pedestrian-friendly circulation patterns to encourage walking, interaction and community.
  • Hillside treehouse villas to immerse the visitor into the rainforest.
  • An urban-chic beach boutique hotel right on the plaza where the guest is in the heart of the action.
  • Carefully selected retail and food and beverage facilities that reflect our roots and our fusion culture.
The beachfront plaza is the place to see and be seen. It is the place for an evening, after dinner stroll. It is the place to sip a strong Costa Rica coffee at day break and watch our surfers’ acrobatics on our fabled southwestern swells. And naturally, the plaza is the gathering place to enjoy a sunset cocktail to view our famous Pacific sunsets.
The vernacular tropical architecture is based upon the plantations built by the United Fruit Company in the early 20th century. The architecture’s foundation is based on natural ventilation, ample protection against equatorial sun and tropical rainstorms, and the verandah as the core of all social/leisure activities. Its Caribbean-like colors made this style fun and playful and livened up what was in reality inexpensive, efficient construction.
